In reference to the implementation of CLASS project, executed with the financial support provided by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA's financial mechanism, we share an interview with Bozhidar Bozhanov for Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).
"Disinformation has been growing in recent years, and the pandemic has accelerated it... We are drowned in information in which we do not have the skills to make a distinction between reliable and unreliable. Technology, Internet, social media have outrun our ability to consume information on such a scale”, said for BNR Bozhidar Bozhanov, a software engineer and a blogger. In his opinion "the free choice that we have pushes us in dangerous directions through information as a weapon".
“Social media is the instrument for spreading fake news. According to its business model, social media emphasize on the most scandalous things, but this increases their effect. There are countries that use disinformation as a geopolitical tool and create fake news sites networks. Elsewhere, political interests interfere. In general, the amalgam of hidden interests produces fake news, disinformation.”
In the show "Something More" Bozhanov added:
"In most cases, the disinformation is not accidental."
